Do you do FB chat?  I am very, very selective about who I “chat” with….my children don’t want to be bothered. (that is my interpretation, not theirs)Grandchildren…maybe…just depends…that’s ok …because they are perfect anyway.

Longing for Spring….

This was yesterday…

Thank goodness for Lenten Roses. They start blooming at the beginning of Lent and even before, their lush foliage is so welcome.
 
Saint Francis is longing for Spring too.
It’s warmer today…and raining again.


That’s right, we are longing(and praying) for Spring.

Cheap Entertainment!

Just a quick stop by my favorite thrift store today.  Like the rest of the whole world, I’m really liking white/cream ware.  I also found  a beautiful piece of vintage linen, an old piece of blue wicker (pedestal) that I will spray paint.  One of my favorite finds is that sick bunny rabbit with only one ear. 

I love, love, this lidded box.
 

The best part of all these white dishes, I can mix them will all my other patterns. I really need to have a party.




 

I already had most of this but I did have a good day as you can see from my shopping cart.  I spent about $20 and had so much fun!

The easiest way to “follow”

So many of you have commented that you don’t know how to “follow” my blog.  In the right column, there is a section called:  Come Follow My Blog.  Just click on:  Follow (with Google friend connect)  It will prompt you to  open a Google account which amounts to answering a few questions and selecting a password.  You can tell them to remember your password so you don’t have to sign in every time.  You don’t have to have a blog.
You will receive an e-mail when there is a new post on the blog,  it allows you to comment easily,  and it allows me to see who is reading my blog.

The Saints won in a 31-28 victory over Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. I couldn’t help feeling a little bit sorry for Favre…but I got over it!

Winning coach Sean Peyton, remembering the disaster that Hurricane Katrina caused, said: "Four years ago, there were holes in this roof. These fans and this city deserve it."
New Orleans has always loved to “party” and it appears that Mardi Gras has started early in the Big Easy.

Celebrate The Good Days!

Since this is a blog about my life, I will, from time to time (not often) write about how our lives have changed since Stan was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis in June, 2009.

Myasthenia gravis is a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disease.  It is caused by a defect in the transmission of nerve impulses to muscles. It occurs when normal communication between the nerve and muscle is interrupted at the neuromuscular junction. 

Are you totally confused?  I know….so are we.  Just when we think we have it figured out, we learn something new.

Some days…. walking is difficult with problems with balance.

Some days….shaving takes so much effort.

Some days….getting dressed is a major feat.

Some days….talking is exhausting and speech is slurred.

Some days…..

We adjust, we plan.  We have figured out that maintaining a normal routine is good.  This usually includes  several hours of rest. We’ve learned that it is very possible we will have to cancel plans we have made due to unexpected weakness.  In fact, we hesitate to make advance plans anymore.

We celebrate the good days.  Being able to play a round of golf is a good, good day!

We love home….there is no place we had rather be.
