What happened to my simple life???

Printers, computers, print servers,

Oh my!

Scanners, cameras, cell phones,

Oh my!

What did I do before all this?  Maybe a more accurate question would be, “What do I do with all this?” The current status of the above:

Printer – working great! (for the first time in several months)

Computer – repaired two weeks ago, Mr.Computer Guru worked his magic!

Print Server - Mr. Guru again

Camera – so not working!  I have gotten in the habit of taking my camera with me everywhere.  Decision to be made here…

Scanner – Just got myself all pumped to scan lots of photos… “searching, searching, searching, cannot find program”.  Oh my!  Got lost when Mr  Guru was working his magic.

Cell phone – just a matter of time

If I had a camera, I would make a picture and show you what a mess I have…

Rosary collection as centerpiece…

I love rosaries and have collected them for several years.  This Lenten season is a good time to share some of them along with a Spring tablescape.  Enjoy!tablescapes 2010 004

Fishing is our handshake, our language. A heritage that binds us together. A passage our fathers took. A journey that lasts a lifetime, that we have begun again with our sons and daughters

Brief experience with Empty Nest Syndrome

It took me about two days to go through the “Empty Nest Syndrome”. I  adjusted

quickly to the silence of the phone and one load of laundry instead of three.

My husband and I cherished our newly found “alone time”.

We laugh as we remember our youngest son going away to school.  We

immediately painted his room pink and hung lace curtains.  We could do this

because we were confident that he knew our love for him.  He also knew

he could come home anytime---if he didn’t mind the pink room.

It hasn’t been so long ago that I can’t remember those years when our

children were growing up,  I will be eternally grateful to my mom and dad

for the times they kept our children and allowed us to have “long weekends”.

The times we invested in a trusted baby-sitter was money well spent.

I am convinced that part of being a good parent, for me, was finding time to be alone with their father.

Because we love our children dearly and wanted them to experience the joy

of a good marriage, we have made ourselves available and keep our grandchildren frequently.

I remind my children that someday their children will be leaving home and it will just be the two of them again. Hopefully---they will still have things to talk about.  (written for VALLEY FAMILY  several years ago)

When you are as old as I am you can do whatever you want.

Misc.Fall 2009 022
My very favorite gift ever.  Stan gave me this little fan.  I use it every day.  It sits on the table beside my chair.

Yep, that's right.  When you are as old as I am, you can do anything you want.
Example:  Don't like the sizes of your clothes?  CUT the size tag out!  See how easy that was!
As many of you know, I rarely have a comfortable body temperature.  This situation is helped many times with a visit to the restroom.  I always have a pair of scissors in my purse.  Yesiree, CUT those sleeves off!
Do you fold your towels where the tags don't show?  I did too until I got smart and cut all those tags off!
Hello!!!!
Good service?  Ask to speak with the manager.
Bad service?  Ask to speak with the manager.  It is amazing how this lowers your stress level.
Always be nice.

My dear blogging friends,

I have discovered that there are problems with WINDOWS LIVE WRITER(blog publishing application) making it very difficult to leave “comments.”  When I talked with them they said the problem  had been addressed(whatever that means) and they hoped to have it fixed in the near future. Hmmmmm

In the next few weeks I will be shopping for new ways to communicate.  I also will be praying that I don’t lose all “my stuff” in the process.  Please keep reading my blog.  Feel free to use my e-mail address:  msgfrmimi@charter.net
