When the kids come…

* I made nine recipes of peanut brittle for the holidays this year.  I shared some of it with neighbors and special friends.  The rest was put in a large tin to have when the kids come.  They never tasted it, in fact, they didn’t even know I had made it!  Oops!

*This is a wonderful muffin mix that I had a friend pick up for me in Birmingham…a good treat for breakfast, when the kids come….

*I tried a new recipe  for Chex Mix this year, all done in the microwave. So easy and good!  Saving this for when the kids come…

*I picked up these “gourmet” looking shortbread cookies earlier in the season.  The key lime ones are a favorite of Katie’s.  I’m saving these for when the kids come…

*I made a big pot of chicken and dumplings earlier in the week.  I have plenty left for when the kids come…It is one of their favorites.

Now stay with me…none of the above was ever served, passed around, or even mentioned!
*?This candy was so pretty on  a pedestal cake stand.  Just perfect for when the kids come… I think they thought it was decorations.

Banana pudding served in vintage glasses. (I call them “shot” glasses just because I want to call them that)  Pretty big “shot” huh!  This actually got served.

Meltaway cookies are a big favorite.  Most of them were eaten.

Fresh coconut cake and caramel cake were enjoyed by all…so it’s not like we didn’t have dessert.
Oh well, we had such a good time!
*not served

I couldn’t resist snapping a picture of this sweet “Charlie Brown” tree at a neighbors house.
