Welcome Easter with Festive Table

I started with one bunch of pomps leftover from high school reunion flowers…and the container I had used…along with 1/2 block of soaked oasis(left-over).  Faux eggs I use every year.

I used 3 stems of pretty “yellow things”.  I really don’t do faux flowers but sometimes, maybe, I might do a few realistic stems mixed in.

I have 21 of these Bunny plates and napkin rings!  Don’t ever do this!  “Aunt Betty has the Easter dishes so I guess we’ll go there!!”

This sweet little bluebird belonged to Katherine, Stan’s sister.  I love using things that remind me of family.

Tiny nest is a Tuesday Morning find.

Lovely, pale pink, huge, damask, dinner napkins…found 12 of them at thrift store.

Lenten Roses with the very first Rosemary blooms…

I just popped in my favorite thrift shop….oh dear…

I really don’t know where to start…it was a good day!

French water & juice glasses - $1.00

Beautiful soup tureen…priced $10.00, had a tiny chip, so I got it for $6.00!! I may spray paint this.  I don’t really care for the gold trim.   Did you notice the monogram?  Kinda neat

This is the prize of the day!  Isn’t it the neatest thing!  Oriental red “chippy” paint, no idea if it has a purpose??  Fancy bird house? - $5.00  Oh, did you notice that yellow, iron, chippy, tray  $2.00…so many uses with 2 strong handles.

Really neat casserole in perfect condition(oven proof) $3.00(there are 2 handles)
 
This sweet thing has no lid and has a hole in the bottom?? Mmm..but who could resist this art for $1.00!  Not me…

A lovely day

How we are longing for Spring!  Today we had a smidgen of nice sunshine.  We have a new flagstone “path” with leftover stones we “begged” for.
Silver leaf Thyme is doing great!

Parsley survived the winter!

New little Rosemary plants…just break a stem off of an established plant and stick it in the ground.  It will root and grow!  These stayed out all winter too.

Another variety of thyme.  This plant drapes out of a pot containing a lime tree. I didn’t get a picture of the tree but I think it survived, lots of new growth.

Angels and empty pots

We had about two hours of glorious sunshine today!  Angels and empty pots everywhere!  I wonder….could these angels fill these empty pots???
This sweet thing is actually a little lamp.  See her wick on her halo? 
Surely she can handle these two pots?

Praying always helps!


I think this precious thing has allergies. See him rubbing his eyes?

I believe in  angels….so we’ll see.

A Lenten prayer

posted 3-09-09….one year later, still such a beautiful prayer.
During this Lenten season, my wish is that this lovely prayer will speak to you as it did me.
Lord, as I begin this day, open not only my eyes but my mind and my heart as well. Help me find joy in every experience, every conversation, every mundane task, every chance encounter. Help me see the rich pattern that forms from the ordinary events of my life. Save me from so hastening through life that I am blind to its beauty, so focused on myself that I miss its priceless joy, its endless wonder.
Lord give me grace to see your goodness active in simple things–a quiet cup of coffee shared with a friend, a meal enjoyed with colleagues, full of laughter and optimism, the healing touch of beautiful music, the bliss of becoming lost in a good book, the smile on the face of a child, the grateful eyes of one I’ve been praying for.
Father save me from lost opportunities and wasted time. Remind me that my days are rich in pleasing moments, that the large problems which disturb my sleep mostly turn out to be little ones after all, and that for all its turmoil and sorrow, it is still a world of beauty, and that I am of all people most richly blessed. Chill Car CD

 
Not too long ago, two of my very favorite granddaughters came to visit.  I love being in the car with them and hearing their music.  It just so happened that they had made a CD of some of their favorites.  They named it the “Chill Car CD” and gave it to me at the end of their visit.  I get so much pleasure listening to this CD and remembering my girls.

I have a new camera!

Lenten Roses…

What happened to my simple life???

Printers, computers, print servers,
Oh my!
Scanners, cameras, cell phones,
Oh my!
What did I do before all this?  Maybe a more accurate question would be, “What do I do with all this?” The current status of the above:
Printer – working great! (for the first time in several months)
Computer – repaired two weeks ago, Mr.Computer Guru worked his magic!
Print Server - Mr. Guru again
Camera – so not working!  I have gotten in the habit of taking my camera with me everywhere.  Decision to be made here…
Scanner – Just got myself all pumped to scan lots of photos… “searching, searching, searching, cannot find program”.  Oh my!  Got lost when Mr  Guru was working his magic.
Cell phone – just a matter of time
If I had a camera, I would make a picture and show you what a mess I have…
